SBCO instrumental groups meet regularly for nine months of the year, offering players the chance to play together, learn new repertoire and improve skills and techniques under the direction of professional tutors.

At present there are five instrumental groups – a cello club, two flute choirs, and one woodwind ensemble – which play together once a fortnight.

There is also a strings training orchestra whose members meet once a month for regular practice.
